Secondary
Wastewater Treatment Plant for Stream Discharge
Chadds Ford, PA
Advanced GeoServices professionals designed the initial 50,000
gpd activated sludge
wastewater treatment plant, prepared planning documents and secured regulatory
approvals for stream discharge of the effluent. Engineering services
to expand the facility to 100,000 gpd for the planned 276 housing units and a
shopping center were also provided. |

Tertiary Wastewater Plant and Subsurface Disposal System
Kennett Township, PA
This 136-unit residential community needed PADEP approval for a
50,000 gpd tertiary denitrification wastewater treatment plant, duplex dosing
pump station and two 16,800-square-foot infiltration beds for disposing of the
tertiary effluent. Advanced GeoServices personnel provided engineering services and assisted the client in
securing construction bids for the plant and infiltration beds, inspected the
construction of the beds and plant, secured a temporary pump and haul permit for
the client and provided plant start-up services and operational services for the
first year of operation. |

Odor Control Project Phoenixville, PA
Advanced GeoServices personnel designed this 8-mgd treatment plant,
which included the influent chamber, two Parshall flumes, a flow splitter chamber, the
center well and effluent launders of two 80-foot diameter clarifiers and
clarifier effluent splitter chamber. The air is drawn from these covered areas
by two 60-hp, positive displacement blowers and is discharged to two fine bubber air diffuser systems located in the two mechanically aerated activated
sludge basins for biological treatment. |

Existing
Community System Design, Repair, Regulatory Approval
West Whiteland Township, PA
Advanced GeoServices personnel conducted soil investigations with the Chester
County Health Department (CCHD) to evaluate the reuse of the existing seepage
bed site for new replacement beds. New pressure dosed sand mound beds were
constructed on the site with CCHD and PADEP approval. A new 100,000 gpd
treatment plant was engineered, approved and constructed to upgrade the
quality of effluent discharged to the beds. |

Sewage Denitrification Treatment Plan Design, Regulatory
Approval
East Fallowfield Township, PA
Advanced GeoServices professionals provided
the engineering for a 9,500 gpd denitrification wastewater treatment system
which will serve a 32-home subdivision and prepared the PADEP
Part II Water Quality Permit application for the project. The treatment plant
system includes a grinder pump station to transfer sewage to an SBR packaged
treatment plant, sand filtration, disinfection and dosing pump station for
15,000 square feett of sand infiltration beds and trenches. A control building
is provided to house airblower, sandfilters, disinfection system, electrical
and instrumentation control and plant operator work station. |

Sewer System Repair and Upgrade, Regulatory Approvals for
Upgrading Plant Rating and Construction Permit Concord
Township, PA
Advanced GeoServices personnel completed an infiltration/inflow investigation for
approximately 17,000 lineal feet of sewer line and managed the repair to manholes
and slip lining of 1000 feet of sewer line. The work has resulted in the
reduction of approximately 20,000 gpd of groundwater and stormwater from the
treatment plant. Engineering plans were also prepared to replace the existing influent
pump station, install a new flow equalization tank, grit and screening
equipment, replace existing positive air blowers and provide upgrades to
existing piping and electrical systems to allow the plant to be re-rated from
54,000 gpd to 74,000 gpd. |
